Through partnerships with local organizations and the help of our generous donors, we have been able to make an immediate and direct impact in the community.
In early 2023, shortly after establishing our board of directors, GMHAA immediately formed a strong partnership with The Family Center of Columbus. Located on 15th Street in Midtown, The Family Center provides outpatient clinical counseling, education, and support services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
By December 31st, 2023, GMHAA was able to provide over $6,000 in mental health grants to The Family Center, through which a total of 120 mental health counseling sessions were provided to members of the community.
Poor mental health is an escalating crisis affecting our community, our state and our nation. If you've never faced mental health struggles, you're fortunate. However, many around you may be silently suffering, in need of help and compassion. We aim to eliminate the financial hurdles and red tape that people often face when seeking assistance. Thanks to our partnerships, we are able to provide immediate financial support, so that people can access mental health care when they need it.
Because sometimes, help can't wait.
I know what it's like to struggle with mental health issues, and to not be able to afford to see a counselor. Once I finally mustered the courage to seek help, I wasn't able to afford it for a long time. I don't want anyone else to have to go through that, so I'll help any way I can...
